About the Coalition

The Interior Design Legislative Coalition of Pennsylvania (IDLCPA) is a not-for-profit organization committed to advancing the interior design profession through licensing and regulation. IDLCPA was established in the late 1980’s as a statewide coalition. Over the past eighteen years the Coalition has worked hard producing two draft bills in the early 1990’s and submitting an exhaustive answer to the Sunrise Evaluation Report required by Pennsylvania legislature in December of 2004.  The International Interior Design Association awarded IDLCPA their Excellence in Government and Regulatory Affairs Award for the Coalition’s work on the Sunrise Evaluation Report: Defining the Interior Design Profession.

IDLCPA has about three hundred members consisting of interior design professionals, students, educators, industry partners, and affiliated professionals. The board has twelve appointed members serving from locations across Pennsylvania.

In 2005, the coalition hired lobbyist Milliron Associates. Working under the guidance of Milliron Associates, IDLCPA submitted an act for interior design licensing in March of 2007.
